Cella Bella’s Hospice

Cella Bella Hospice was started with the intention of providing superior end-of-life care to those needing it in the state of Texas. It all starts with our exceptional team of professionals who are committed to guiding patients and their loved ones through the end of life journey with knowledge, compassion, and the highest ethical standard.

Comfort Care

We understand the importance of living out the precious, final days of life being supported and feeling comfortable. At Cella Bella’s, we help patients facing life-limiting illnesses by attending to physical, emotional, and spiritual needs. Our team of professionals embraces the end-of-life journey as a natural progression of the human life cycle; where families and individuals receive tender loving care when they need it most.

Let Healthcare Come to You

We are privileged to serve patients in many settings: their own homes, nursing homes, hospitals, assisted living facilities, and many other places people consider home. Our hospice team comes to you with a variety of services. In order to provide professional and enduring hospice care in the home setting, a primary caregiver must be available.

  • Weekly Nursing visits
  • Assistance with personal hygiene and light housekeeping
  • Expert pain and symptom management
  • 24-hour On-Call Nurse
  • Medication management and pharmacy delivery to your doorstep
  • Medical equipment and supplies: wheelchair, hospital beds, oxygen and more
  • Volunteer services including patient companionship and respite for the caregiver
  • Medically necessary continuous care
  • Spiritual and psychosocial services
  • Bereavement care

Getting Started

Anyone can call 512-912-2302 or visit the Cella Bella’s office to begin the process of receiving quality end-of-life care. A doctor’s referral is not necessary. Patients may refer themselves or may be referred to our services by a loved one or caregiver.

Early contact will help patients and families make informed decisions regarding future choices. Our staff is ready to answer any of your questions and trained to determine the medical appropriateness and Medicare eligibility. There is no cost or obligation.

Admission Process

  • With consent, the Admissions Department will contact the attending physician.
  • The patient or representative will be asked to sign consents. Cella Bella’s will explain in detail all services and benefits. Most important is understanding that care is palliative, aimed at pain relief and symptom control, rather than being a curative treatment.
  • Our admissions department will make an appointment for a nurse to visit the patient and family. This visit is to further explain hospice services, to assess the patient’s needs, and to discuss the patient’s and family’s goals of care.
  • The patient and the family should have the following information ready for the Hospice staff members before they arrive:
    • All medications, dosages, and how often medication is taken should be written on a piece of paper.
    • Any insurance cards and Medicare and/or Medicaid cards should also be available.
    • We respect the patient’s rights and wishes regarding who may receive information, if necessary, regarding their condition. Therefore, we ask that you provide us with a complete list of names, addresses and phone numbers of any family members or friends who the patient wants information given to regarding their condition.
    • A copy of any advance directives, such as a Health Care Proxy, Power of Attorney or Do Not Resuscitate Order (DNR).
    • A listing of any durable medical equipment in the home that is from a supplier.
    • A list of any staff in the home from an agency.
    • Any other significant information we may need to know

Important Conversations

Decisions about end-of-life care are deeply personal and are based on your values and beliefs. Often times, family members or loved ones are unsure of what your personal wishes might be and having a conversation with your loved ones that focus on your wishes and beliefs will provide relief to those you care for.

Our team is trained to help clients and their families to achieve their goals when facing a life-limiting illness. Having these conversations early ensures that your personal wishes are honored, reduces stress and helps to avoid crisis situations.
